This is one of my older projects back in 2012, when i needed to improve the speed of my gpu on D630. This was a test of concept and it proves to work. Let me explain what i did. i purchased a mini pcie to pcie adapter and the version that i had came with holes for adding extra 12v rail which i needed to power a gpu. I ended up soldering 4 pins into that location and supplied it with a 12v power supply.
